Dori is an interesting 4-star Electro character in Genshin Impact. She is an interesting character from Sumeru who uses her own genie to wield a massive Claymore.

She was introduced in Version 3.0 and has a unique playstyle built around healing and damage, serving as Electro’s second healing unit after Shinobu. There are quite a few ways to go with Dori and figuring out how to best build her to fit your team could prove tricky.

Here’s how to best build Dori in Genshin Impact including her best weapons, her best artifacts, team compositions and more.

Want more Genshin Impact content? You can find more here at KeenGamer:

Dori is a merchant from Sumeru’s Port Ormos who was introduced in Version 3.0. She is a craft lover of all things Mora, going to almost any length to continue building her vast empire of gold. Within Port Ormos, she is known as a merchant on the shadier side of life, with even the ability to provide the outlawed Knowledge Capsules… if you have the coin, of course.

She uses a vast group of agents to bring possible buyers to her table and will only work with those she considers worth her time. If you cannot outrun the Matra or follow codes, Dori has no business with you. Dori is an elusive figure, but she will certainly come running at the jingle of a coin purse.

“Asking Dori not to mention Mora is like asking the people of Sumeru to never use spices in their dishes again. Basically, it’s almost impossible.”

Collected Miscellany – Dori: Business is Booming

As a 4-star character, Dori is available on rate-up alongside 5-star characters or through wishing on any of the available banners. You could summon Dori at any time. However, she will be competing against every other 4-star in the game and so the chances of getting her specifically are quite low.

If you want the best chance of adding Dori to your team, summon her on a banner when she is on rate-up as one of the available 4-star units.

So far, Dori has appeared on the following banners:

To bring Dori up to level 90, you will need the following resources:

The Kalpalata Lotus is a Sumeru-exclusive flower. This small blueish flower grows on the side of cliffs and slopes all over Sumeru, similar to Liyue’s Violetgrass. Dori needs 168 Kalpalata Lotuses to ascend from level 1 to level 90. The Genshin Impact Interactive Map website has a full list of locations on where to find these resources. If you are lucky enough to have Tighnari, you can use his passive Encyclopaedic Knowledge to see Sumeru specialities like the Kalapata Lotus on the minimap.

Faded Red Satin is an enemy material dropped by a new class of enemies in Version 3.0 known as the Eremites. These are a band of mercenaries from the deserts of Sumeru and have multiple distinct enemy types. You will find these enemies in every part of Sumeru, and you can even use the Adventure’s Handbook to track down large groups of them. In total, Dori will require 15 Faded Red Satin, 30 Trimmed Red Silk and 36 Rich Red Brocade.

Thunderclap Fruitcores are a world boss material which can be earned from the new Electro Regisvine boss in Sumeru. This boss can be found in the mushroom forest in the North-East of Sumeru and is a variant of the Pyro and Cryo Regisvine found in other areas of Teyvat. The Electro Regisvine has several attacks which can deal very big damage if you’re not careful, so keep on your toes for its laser attacks. You will need 46 Thunderclap Fruitcores.

The Vajarda Amethyst Gemstones are the Electro variant of the elemental gems. These can be earned from Electro oriented world bosses, daily commissions or weekly Trounce Domain bosses. You will likely accumulate a lot of them via farming the Electro Regisvine. If you require a little extra boost in resources, you can transmute lower rarity gems into higher rarity ones at the Alchemy Table. Overall, you’ll need 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks and 6 Gemstones.

Finally, like all other characters in Genshin Impact, Dori will need 420k Mora and 416 Hero’s Wit EXP Books to get up to 90.

Considering her build and weapon choice, Dori has a very interesting way of playing compared to other characters. Her playstyle is a bit all over the place, too, with the potential for decent damage and healing as well as energy regeneration, alongside some charming main attack animations.

Dori’s Normal Attack is called Marvellous Sword Dance Modified and it is a 3 hit combo that can be held to perform a spinning slash. The most important part about this Normal Attack isn’t the damage or even the skill, but the animation it is paired with. Instead of lifting the Claymore herself, Dori will sit back on her genie friend and allow it to do all the work for her.

Her Elemental Skill is Spirit-Warding Lamp: Troubleshooter Cannon. This attack has Dori pick up a large lamp and fire out a bolt of Electro energy at an enemy, dealing Electro DMG on hit. After the initial hit from the Troubleshooter Shot, the round will split into two seeking After-Sales Rounds that track targets and deal additional damage. If you get Dori’s Constellation 1, the After-Sale rounds will increase by 1 to a maximum of 3.

Finally, Dori’s Elemental Burst is called Alcazarzaray’s Exactitude. When this Burst is triggered, Dori will unleash the Jinni within the lamp in the form of a floating lamp. This will connect to any friendly target in the range of the Lamp, providing them with continuous healing (based on Dori’s HP stat) and Elemental Energy, and they will also be affected by Electro for the duration. If the connecting line between the character and the Jinni intersects a target, they will take Electro damage every 0.4s that they are stood in it.

As for Dori’s passives, her regular passive is called Unexpected Order and it has a 25% chance of recovering some crafting materials on Character and Weapon transmutations. Her A2 Passive is An Eye For Gold where the duration of Dori’s Elemental Skill will decrease when a player connected to the Jinni triggers an Electro-based Reaction. Dori’s A5 Passive is Compound Interest where for every 100% stat of Energy Recharge Dori has, she will regenerate an additional 5 energy upon hitting with her Elemental Skill.

As for what order you should prioritise her talents:

Dori is a pretty interesting character when it comes to her weapon choice, as it will depend on your build for her. Additionally, her best weapon may not even be a 5-star weapon.

Firstly, there is both an ideal 5-star choice and an ideal 4-star choice, as both will work quite well in different ways.

The 5-star option is the Skyward Pride. This weapon allows Dori to be a bit more attack-oriented and deal a bit more damage, alongside being a useful support. The weapon has a native Energy Recharge substat, up to 34% at level 90, and has a base ATK of 674. Skyward Pride increases damage by 8% and augments a character’s Burst. Upon popping their Burst, Normal and Charged attacks generate a Wind Vaccum Blade that deals 80% of ATK and last for 20s. The weapon fits into Dori’s Energy Recharge requirement for her A5 Passive, as well as giving her a little more edge in combat using the Vaccum Blades.

The other ideal option is the 4-star weapon, the Sacrificial Greatsword. When compared to the Skyward Pride, this weapon will not allow Dori to be as dominant in attack, but it will grant her better supportive capabilities. This weapon also has Energy Recharge as its native substat, up to 30%, with a base ATK of 565. The skill on the Sacrificial Greatsword has a chance to refund the charge of an Elemental Skill when it hits an enemy. This chance increases with the refinement level, starting at 40%. For Dori, this allows her to get off Troubleshooter Cannon more often, less important for damage but for Energy Recharge purposes. It will also cause Electro on a target, making it quite important in that regard.

Either of these options is ideal depending on which path you want to take Dori down: pure healing support, or jack-of-all-trades.

If you don’t have either of these options, there are a few others that align with Dori’s preferred playstyle.

Before you test any 4-star options, if you are lucky to have any other 5-star Claymores, try them out first. Most have damage-boosting elements, meaning that they won’t be as useful on Dori, but they are worthy of testing due to the nature of 5-star weapons being inherently better in most circumstances.

Replacement weapon options for Dori are The Favonius Greatsword and the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa.

The Favonius Greatsword is a weapon available through Wishing. It has an Energy Recharge substat, up to a whopping 61%. Whenever a character wielding this weapon deals with a CRIT, they have a 60% chance of generating additional Elemental Particles that generate 6 energy. For Dori, this means more Elemental Bursts which means more healing, more energy, more damage, which means more energy and the cycle repeats. The difficult part is that you have to build around a high CRIT Rate for Dori if you use this weapon, even if her damage is still pretty low.

On the other hand, the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa  is a crafted weapon from Inazuma that you unlock by finding 3 keys on Tatarasuna Island. This weapon also has Energy Recharge as a substat, up to 45%. When a character wielding this weapon hits with an Elemental Skill, they will lose 3 energy but will begin to generate 3 energy every 2s for 6s up to a total of 9 energy. You can trigger this effect when the character is not on the field. For Dori, this means that she will continually regain her Burst much faster even if she isn’t on the field after using her Skill.

As with a lot of things to do with Dori, what artifacts you run on her depends on where you want her build-wise.

2-Piece Severed Fate grants her an additional 20% Energy Recharge, whereas 2-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith gives a 20% boost to HP. Dori requires high Energy Recharge for her Burst and for her Ascension 2 Passive to work to its best, and she also needs high HP to heal as effectively as she can. As a result, just putting both of these sets on her will drastically increases her support potential.

This set is a bit of an odd one but can be worth it if you have the uptime on Dori’s Burst. The 2-Piece bonus increases Burst DMG by 20% which, while nice, isn’t especially useful on Dori outside of the connecting link between Jinni and the player. Meanwhile, the 4-Piece bonus is far more useful, where after popping an Elemental Burst, all teammates get a 20% ATK buff that lasts for 12s. Despite not making herself much stronger, this does lean into Dori’s supportive nature more by giving her another piece of the puzzle: healing, recharge and now an ATK boost. As a result, this may be appealing for some people if your stats roll correctly.

The main stats you will want to chase for Dori are:

As a support unit, it isn’t worth having a lot of ATK on Dori. Instead, buffing her Energy Recharge will be the most important part here. As previously stated, Energy Recharge plays heavily into Dori’s Ascension 5 passive Compounding Interest and will allow her to keep popping her Burst for heals and recharge. Don’t go above 300%, however, as the maximum on the A5 is 15 energy.

Next, HP is similarly important for Dori’s role as a support as it makes her heal more. The higher Dori’s HP stat, the more she will heal. If you put Dori on your team, she will likely be your only healer and so you will want her to be good at that job. As such, making sure her HP stat is just as important as the Energy Recharge won’t go wrong.

Finally, Elemental Mastery is here simply for reactions. As an Electro character, Dori can access some very potent reactions (especially in Sumeru with the introduction of Dendro). You will be causing them whether deliberate or not so you may as well pump up the damage they deal so that they can be more potent. EM will also factor into her A2 talent, An Eye for Gold, as it features heavily in reactions after popping Dori’s Burst.

The following teams will all place Dori as the main support or healing character within the team. This will also include a F2P budget team that free-to-play players can use that does not require any gacha characters (aside from Dori).

This team consists of Dori, Eula, Shenhe and the Raiden Shogun.

In this team setup, Dori acts as the healer and support battery to all the other characters. The main reaction being used here is Super Conduct, which will boost the attacks of Eula by a considerable portion as Super Conduct lowers PHY RES to affected enemies. Dori will heal up anybody who needs it, generating constant energy when she is on the field and causing enemies to be affected by Electro.

Eula is the main star here and the team’s DPS. She is perfect for this as her Skill inflicts Cryo but most of her big damage will come from her Burst and Normal Attack options, which are perfect for a Super Conduct comp. The constant recharge from Dori and Shogun will keep her Burst uptime very high and means that Eula will always be able to do big damage to any who faces her.

Shenhe is here mainly to buff Eula’s damage, with her Burst buffing both Cryo and Physical DMG. She is a perfect pick for Eula, capable of quickly causing Super Conduct in conjunction with Shogun or Dori and her buffs affect the whole team. In addition, with her and Eula on the same team, the Cryo Elemental Resonance comes into effect, boosting CRIT Rate against Cryo afflicted targets.

Shogun is the final piece, causing the team to have access to the Electro Resonance effect and she will provide more damage. She will use her Skill to deal continuously Super Conduct and sizable damage alongside Eula. Shogun is also a great backup DPS with her Burst. She also will generate a lot of energy, allowing Dori to keep everyone alive and vice-versa.

This team consists of Dori, Tighnari, Yae Miko and Collei.

In this setup, Dori will play support to a more reaction-based comp around the Dendro Reactions Quicken, Aggravate and Spread. She will heal teammates and provide a lot of support in getting their Elemental Bursts back in a quick manner, while the others provide nice damage and reactions.

Tighnari and Yae Miko will be doing the main bulk of the damage. With his Charged Attacks and Elemental Burst, Tighnari can rip through bosses and mobs in equal measure, even more so when you bring Spread into the mix. Dori will keep the uptime on Tighnari’s Burst high, allowing for even more damage and reactions.

Yae Miko will mainly buff Tighnari’s damage through Aggravate and Spread, but she does good damage in her own right. Her Skill allows her to just put down her ability and move on, much like Dori. In addition, the Electro Resonance returns to this team, granting energy particles whenever you cause an Electro Reaction.

Finally, Collei is here more as a backup option for the Dendro application. Her Burst provides decent damage and imbues enemies with Dendro very easily, while her Skill does the same thing. Alongside Tighnari she gives the team the Dendro Resonance effect. However, Collei can be subbed out for other members. If you want to go for a more Reaction based Hyperbloom comp, pick a character like Mona, for example.

This team consists of Dori, Lisa, Dendro Traveller and Collei.

In this F2P team, Dori heals and supports the other characters, with Lisa serving as the main DPS alongside the Traveller. She will be providing continuous energy for Lisa and Traveller’s Bursts, meaning that they will always be doing a wide range of AoE skills and damage.

Lisa works well in that this team, like the last team, gets access to the Electro Resonance. Furthermore, her damage can be very good if you pair it with the Aggravate from Traveller and doesn’t require her to always be on the field with her Burst. While not as inherently strong as some other Electro carries, Lisa can certainly get the job done.

Traveller serves to provide Dendro reactions easily with their Skill as well as do okay damage. Their Burst is good at both dealing damage as well as causing Reactions, which can be paired well with the other Bursts in the party. All of them are AoE based, making life hard for any enemy in that 4-way AoE.

Lastly, Collei provides the Dendro Resonance and another source of Dendro reactions. If you don’t have Collei (who was available for free from the Graven Innocence event) you could try other characters like Amber for an ability to Burn targets or Xingqui to provide Bloom and buffs to the team.

And that is how you can best build Dori in Genshin Impact.
