An Olmsted Falls Police Department cruiser.

An officer stopped at David Fortier Park to check on an occupied car that was parked there at 11:14 p.m. May 24.

A man was near the pond with a flashlight. He was trying to catch frogs for an upcoming fishing trip. The officer verbally warned him about park hours.

A woman called police at 1:48 p.m. May 19 about a pickup truck that was driving around near her house. She said she didn’t know who owned the truck or why it was there. Two different trucks went down the long driveway. They had no reason to be on the property.

Special attention was given for that area.

A woman called police May 19 to say that someone was trying to extort money from her through her Instagram account.

A man called police May 19 referencing an airsoft gun he had just purchased for his son. He was advised not to use the airsoft gun in the city.

A caller May 19 told police that a car was parked and running in a parking lot for almost three hours. The caller was unsure whether the car, which had Texas plates, was occupied.

Police went to the location and learned that the man worked for a company that was soliciting in Berea and Olmsted Falls. He was advised to obtain a permit since he did not have one.

An officer at 9:30 p.m. May 19 advised a fisherman about park hours.

An officer cited a motorist at 7:21 a.m. May 20 for weaving.

A resident went to the police station about giving her banking, passport and Social Security numbers to a fake company.

She said she had completed an application for a job on Zip Recruiter, but never heard back. She then contacted that company, which told her the job she had applied for was a fake account.

Fortunately, she was not a victim since she canceled all of her accounts.

Police checked on a car that was parked at 1:59 a.m. May 21. They contacted the parents of the passenger, who was a juvenile.

Police confiscated and disposed of 11 beers found in the car. The driver was cited for parking in the park after hours.

The railroad crossings at Lewis and Columbia roads were blocked at 4:15 p.m. May 21 while a train waited to meet up with another. All tracks were cleared at 5:25 p.m.

Unruly kids: Grist Mill Run

A caller at 5:58 p.m. May 22 said three teens had tipped over a porta potty. The boys were wearing black shorts and gray and white shirts. They were last seen on Tannery Way.

Police drove around looking for the teens, but were unable to find them.

Officers uprighted the potty. There was some debris in the area. The company was called to service the device.

A man at 12:55 a.m. May 23 was passed out in a Jeep next to a pump at a local gas station. Police suspected he had used heroin.

The Jeep had damage to its hood, windshield and right side. It was believed to have been involved in an earlier hit-skip mailbox incident. Suspected heroin was found on the front seat.

Natural gas odor: Grist Mill Run

A landscaping crew May 23 smelled natural gas by a yellow gas flag on the tree lawn. The fire department advised that there was a small underground leak there. Columbia Gas said it would be responding immediately.
