Worried about making a great team for Raids, Gyms, and PvP battles? Check out this Pokemon Go tier list of the best attackers.
The abundance of Pokemon in Pokemon Go is great but it also leads to confusion during team formation, Raids, and PvP battles. Here’s a Pokemon Go tier list featuring the best attackers in the game that you must add to your party.
Ash’s Pikachu might have been able to defeat the likes of Latios, Regice, and Mega Lucario in the anime, but the combat in Pokemon games rarely encourages such surprises. Every Pokemon has a fixed set of stats and a type that influences how it will perform in battles.
Many fan favorites like Pikachu and Charizard are terrible for combat in Pokemon Go and even their Shadow variants cannot compete with some regular Pokemon. Hence, it is only natural for players to be perplexed about using their valuable resources like Stardust and evolution items.
Here’s a list of the best attackers in Pokemon Go that are certainly worth your investment.
While it is not possible to rank the 700 Pokemon in Pokemon Go in a single tier list, we’ve come up with ten attackers that lead the charge in their respective types.
The list also considers the availability of Pokemon. Super-rare sightings such as Deoxys haven’t been included despite their explosive attacking abilities as most players won’t be able to unlock them.
It is no surprise that Dragonite has made this list. This Dragon-Flying-type beast has always been a reliable ally during combat. It is weak against Ice, Rock, Fairy, and Dragon-type Pokemon but compensates for this by resisting damage from Ground, Grass, Fire, Water, Fighting, and Bug-type Pokemon.
The best move set for Dragonite in Pokemon Go: Dragon Tail (fast move) & Draco Meteor (charge move).
Tyranitar has a pseudo Legendary status and lives up to this with its great offensive stats. It belongs to Dark and Rock types and is very weak against Fighting-type Pokemon. However, it can resist damage from Normal, Flying, Poison, Ghost, Fire, Dark, and Psychic Pokemon.
With its high CP, Tyranitar is ideal for Master League battles and it will easily defeat Flying, Fire, or Ice-type opponents in PvE battles as well.
The best move set for Tyranitar in Pokemon Go: Smack Down & Stone Edge.
Lucario is arguably one of the best Pokemon in Pokemon Go because it has amazing offensive stats and belongs to Fighting and Steel types. Defensively, Steel is the strongest type in the game which indirectly gives Lucario more time to unleash its powerful attacks.
Lucario is effective in Gym battles, Team Go Rocket battles, Raids, and the Go Battle League. Basically, you won’t ever regret spending your Stardust on it.
The best move set for Lucario in Pokemon Go: Counter & Aura Sphere.
The best Water-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go, Kyogre, certainly deserves a spot on this list. The Legendary Pokemon can help you take down other Legendaries like Moltres, Entei, and Groudon in the Master League and during Raids.
Electric and Grass are the only two types that can be a bone of contention for Kyogre. Apart from that, it has enough HP and Defense to remain on the battlefield for a long time.
The best move set for Kyogre in Pokemon Go: Waterfall & Hydro Pump.
Rampardos is one of the best Rock-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go with 219 Stamina and a whopping 295 attack. It is weak against Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel, and Water-types but can easily outshine Fire, Flying, Normal, and Poison-type Pokemon.
Rampardost might not yield the best results during PvP battles in the Go Battle league but you can always rely on it for Raids and Gyms.
The best move set for Rampardos in Pokemon Go: Smack Down and Rock Slide.
With a Dialga in your team, it is unlikely that you’ll ever struggle in the Pokemon Go Master League. It is a nightmare for other Dragon-type Pokemon and can withstand Fairy-type opponents such as Togekiss and Sylveon.
Dialga might not have the best move sets in the game but it benefits significantly from its Dragon and Steel-type. It is only weak against Fighting and Ground-types.
Dialga is an equally excellent Pokemon for Raids and Gyms. Hence, you should look out for it whenever it is available in Raids.
The best move set for Dialga in Pokemon Go: Metal Claw and Draco Meteor.
Reshiram is a Legendary Dragon and Fire-type Pokemon and yes, it is as intimidating as it sounds. It is great against Steel and Dragon-type Pokemon that usually dominate the Master League in Pokemon Go.
Reshiram’s stats are the same as Dialga and it performs really well against some Raid bosses like Mega Beedrill, Scizor, Registeel, Mega Abomasnow, and Zekrom. If you’re lacking a strong Fire-type to carry you in battles, this Legendary creature should be on your radar.
The best move set for Reshiram in Pokemon Go: Fire Fang and Overheat.
When it comes to Ghost-type attackers, Chandelure beats Gengar and even surpasses Blaziken as a Fire-type DPS. Considering the fact that Chandelure is far more accessible than Legendary Pokemon like Moltres and Groudon, it is a must-have Pokemon for casual players.
Chandelure isn’t the most suitable for PvP battles in the Go Battle League, but you will witness its true potential in PvE battles such as Gyms and Raids. It is worth noting that Chandelure is one of the best Pokemon to defeat Mewtwo which happens to be the best attacker in Pokemon Go.
The best move set for Chandelure in Pokemon Go: Fire Spin & Shadow Ball.
Rayquaza has been the strongest attacker in several Pokemon games, and Pokemon Go is no exception. With its 284 ATK, you can expect lethal damage from its STAB (Same type attack bonus) moves.
Rayquaza is a Dragon-Flying-type Pokemon that largely struggles against Ice-types. However, it compensates for this by resisting damage from strong types such as Grass, Ground, Bug, Fighting, Fire, and Water.
Rayquaza can learn Dragon and Flying-type moves that naturally add to its viability in PvP and PvE battles.
The best move set for Rayquaza in Pokemon Go: Dragon Tail & Outrage.
Even after years, we haven’t found a better attacker than Mewtwo in Pokemon Go. It has been the best attacker since its release and is dominating the Go Battle League, Raids, and Gym battles as of September 2022.
Mewtwo is a Legendary Psychic beast that only struggles against Dark, Bug, and Ghost-type opponents.
Mewtwo has a massive attack stat and can learn a wide range of Charge moves. Every resource that you invest in this Pokemon will definitely yield good results. If you haven’t caught it yet, check out this guide on how to get Mewtwo in Pokemon Go.
The best move set for Mewtwo in Pokemon Go: Confusion & Psystrike.
This chart will list the type of the best attackers in Pokemon Go, their stats, strengths, and weaknesses:
To avoid the dominance of Dragon-type Legendaries in the entire list, we’ve picked some accessible Pokemon like Chandelure, Lucario, Dragonite, and Tyranitar too.

With the release of NBA 2K23 on September 9, players have discovered popular streamer Dr Disrespect’s appearance in-game.
NBA 2K23 players have noticed that Herschel ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm has made a surprise appearance in the game.
Along with other massive 2022 game releases, NBA 2K23 is set to launch on September 9, and despite not being out just yet, fans have already spotted the 2x Champion in the game.
Dr Disrespect has been known to enjoy Basketball, often boasting about his vertical leap and time spent playing NCAA Division II Basketball at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
While the popular YouTube streamer has been creating and working on his own game, DEADROP, it seems he has also been collaborating together with 2K Games, as fans spot elements of the character in-game.
The Doc teased his appearance in NBA 2K23 on September 8, as he tweeted, “hearing a lot of rumors about the Two-Time. Never the less, see you in game tomorrow… literally,” fans have now discovered his iconic vest and more in-game.
What looks to be part of NBA 2K23’s Seasonal Pass, players can earn Dr Disrespect cosmetics, including the “Black Steel Mullet + Headphones” at Tier 8, as well as his “Showtime Vest” at Tier 32.
NBA 2K23 really added @DrDisrespect and his vest to the game pic.twitter.com/1A2JDgA4am
This is pretty hilarious, and there is no doubt that players will be running around the My Park and City wearing the Doc’s outfit, with one comment under Dexerto’s post reading “HECK YES!!!”
Since Dr Disrespect mostly plays FPS game, some may be confused or surprised at this collab, but fans of his will know that he has been playing sports games since he was a kid.
In fact, the reason the Doc calls himself the 2x Champion is because he actually won back-to-back NBA Jam tournaments in 1993 and 1994, so the collab is actually quite fitting.

Here’s a breakdown of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet exclusives and version differences to help make your choice easier.
For years Pokemon fans have used version differences to decide which of the two newly released games to purchase, and Scarlet & Violet should be no different. Here’s an overview of all the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet version exclusives.
Dating back to the release of Pokemon Blue & Red in 1996, Pokemon fans have had to choose between multiple versions of the franchise’s mainline installments. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will present the same dilemma to players as they welcome the ninth generation of Pokemon.
While most players are interested in discovering the version exclusive Pokemon that are attached to each of the games, Scarlet and Violet will introduce more version differences than ever when they release on November 18.
Here’s everything you need to know about the version differences between Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
It will come as no surprise to learn that box legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon will be version-exclusive Pokemon. Koraidon is the face of Pokemon Scarlet, while Miraidon is synonymous with Pokemon Violet.
These two legendary Pokemon will be your method of transportation around the Paldea region across the ground, water, and air. Make your choice wisely as you’ll likely be seeing a lot of Koraidon and Miraidon.
It was also revealed that Ceruledge (left) and Armarouge (right) will be available in Violet and Scarlet respectively. These Pokemon are new introductions to the series from the Paldea region.
The Pokemon Company also confirmed that the pseudo-legendary evolution lines of Tyranitar and Salamence will be version exclusives. Larvitar will appear exclusively in Pokemon Scarlet, while Bagon will only be found in Violet.
In addition, generation eight Pokemon Stonjourner and Eiscue will also be version exclusives for Scarlet and Violet respectively.
We’ll keep you posted as more version-exclusive Pokemon are confirmed leading up to the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
For the first time in the Pokemon franchise, players will have a different professor depending on the version they select.
Professor Sada seen on the left is one of the Paldea region’s two professors and appears in Pokemon Scarlet. Meanwhile, Turo seen on the right is the professor you’ll encounter in Pokemon Violet.
As you can see from the professors’ attire, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seem to be setting up a theme of ancient vs modern. It remains to be seen how this will impact Scarlet and Violet’s gameplay but the environment and design of its characters could vary.
Paldea’s largest city in the region, Mesagoza, is home to the academy you’ll attend. Scarlet players will visit Naranja Academy, while Violet players will hone their skills at Uva Academy.
According to a Pokemon blog: “In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the name of the school, its emblem, its uniforms, and other details will differ depending on which game version you’re playing.”
The Naranja and Uva Academy uniform colors vary to match the respective title’s color theme. Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced the concept of version-exclusive gym leaders, and while there’s no sign of them in Scarlet and Violet, we’ll keep you posted as more information comes to light.

A brand-new Battlefield narrative campaign is being developed by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto’s new Ridgeline Games studio.
While DICE continues to support Battlefield 2042, EA have announced that the new studio from Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, Ridgeline Games, is developing a narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe.
Although multiplayer is what the Battlefield franchise became famous for, each game used to come with a campaign that introduced players to the game’s mechanics and the world that the large-scale multiplayer was set in.
For the first time ever, DICE opted not to include a campaign with 2021’s Battlefield 2042. Instead, it launched with Battlefield Portal, Hazard Zone, and the classic multiplayer. Now, EA have announced that the new Ridgeline Games studio are developing a brand-new Battlefield campaign.
Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of the Halo universe and Master Chief’s designer, joined EA to start a new studio back in October 2021. His studio has now been unveiled as Ridgeline Games and they’re working on a Battlefield campaign.
We're all in on the future of Battlefield! We're continuing to support #BF2042, and welcome our new studio, @RidgelineGames, who will be focusing on a narrative campaign. Read more from GM Byron Beede 👇https://t.co/RHcHYe0opc pic.twitter.com/fO7eCHNDAB
In a September 8 announcement, Byron Beede, Battlefield’s General Manager, said that Lehto will “bring his long legacy of creating fascinating worlds and gripping narratives to Battlefield” as he “[leads] the charge to develop a narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe that will engage fans in new and exciting ways while remaining true to the classic elements of the series.”
After players thought that the campaign would be for Battlefield 2042, the devs clarified that “The new narrative campaign experience Ridgeline Games is working on is not part of Battlefield 2042. It will be set in the Battlefield universe.”
DICE will continue to support Battlefield 2042, Industrial Toys will carry on working on Battlefield Mobile, and Portal developers Ripple Effect are “focused on creating an entirely new Battlefield experience.”
This announcement also confirmed that creative director Lars ‘Mr Battlefield’ Gustavsson is leaving Battlefield and DICE to pursue new opportunities.
Even with Battlefield 2042’s poor reception, EA are still “all in on the future of Battlefield” and there are still a couple of 2042 seasons planned following the recent Season 2 update.
